This week in review

I find that I think about politics a lot. Perhaps more than I should. I should watch this stuff more often or play Animal Crossing more. Wish I could get into Runescape or Wizards 101. It is fun to escape reality once in a while.

It is always such a difficult balance knowing one's priorities. I read this about Obama's response to the shooting at Fort Hood Texas yesterday. I found Michelle Malkin really good at tracking down information that our politically correct media doesn't want to bring up. Where are all the brave journalists? Or does art imitate life like on the show "V"?

I did find this new website called Double X. I like and I don't know why. I don't necessarily agree with all of it. But it is a amusing alternative to my usual news blogs. It is like the Daily Show for Blogs. This was the last skit from The Daily Show, I enjoyed.

Double X had a interesting article about Dolly Parton, whose music never appealed to me. But there is a lesson in acceptance and hope in Dolly Parton's music even when it seems to come from a different world than many of us are used to.

It had a link to useful article about credit card companies trying to work around new consumer protection laws. There are different ways of trying to become debt free and moving away from the stranglehold of credit card debt. CNNmoney has this clever calculator to help consumers. Whether you use God to manage your debt or something else such as the Motley Fool for financial guidance. It is important to be aware of all the resources that can help you fight credit card debt.

Double X has other articles like, "what kind of mom are you?" Sometimes you need a fluffy distraction. You may need reminders that you may be hipper than you think whether you homeschool or parent in some other way, even if your kids think you are nuts.
