Having Slacked off for a Month

I haven't posted in a while because I needed a break from the news. I had an old acquaintance who followed the news to where it was making her crazy and cynical. I don't want to be like that. There were people who reacted like this when Obama got elected. I felt like this, when McCain lost. I felt like I had a bad hangover for days. I really need to have the philosophy of Sarah Palin or at least her sense of humor. I voted for her, really....not McCain.

I have always loved history. One of the most influential women in my life, repeated Santayana's mantra, "Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it." It has been frustrating feeling like the news is complicit in re-writing history much as Stalin once did.

The media ignores the Climategate emails. And it is up to serious reporters like John Stewart, Breitbart, or blogs to report what the media will not. It is so important to cling to the idea of Climate change because it was profitable on some level to blame man for wrecking the environment. And now many of us realize we were lied to. We have been lied to about so many things. Like Obama's stimilus helping the economy. When it helped people like this guy. And these people. Saturday Night Live got it right a few weeks back with this skit.

Many people are unhappy, even liberals. The rest of us just have buyer's remorse. Fortunately, Andrew Klavan helps me feel a little less alone.
